Wilmington Catholic Radio’s 15th Anniversary on Carolina Catholic!

For our June show, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of Wilmington Catholic Radio which went on the air in July 2004. We chat with Board members Bill Hamilton, Jim Edens, and Greg Decker. Bill will recount his idea for founding the radio station after he heard the Apparitions of Our Lady tape by Bud McFarland, Sr. Bill felt called to learn more about his faith, and the idea for a Catholic radio station in Wilmington was born.

Bill invited Jim Edens to join the Board and enlisted Greg Decker's help whose expertise in computers was the perfect fit when the Board had a vacancy. Over the years, these men have worked tirelessly to expand the coverage of Catholic radio including Southport.

This show will air on Saturday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday, June 16th at 6:00 p.m.

Ladies Guild Memorial WeekendBake Sale

Start date: May 25, 2019 - End date: May 26, 2019

Mark your calendar to stop by and pick up some sweets at the Ladies Guild Bake Sale after all Masses on May 25th and 26th. If you have a favorite recipe you would like to share, you do not need to be a Guild member to provide baked goods, as all contributions are welcome. Drop off your donation before the Mass you are attending. Please label offering to indicate if it contains nuts, is gluten free, sugar free, etc. Proceeds support the Ladies Guild Scholarship Fund.

May Crowning Ceremony & Rosary

The Knights of Columbus will lead a Rosary Service and Crowning ceremony at the Blessed Mother Statue for the Unborn following the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Mother’s Day, May 12th. Come joins us as we continue to pray to Our Lady for an end to abortion. Your continued support and prayers are most appreciated in our continuing effort to “Celebrate the Gospel of Life.”

Dedication Ceremony of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue

The Dedication of our Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue [Dosher Cut-Off Dr. Entrance] will be on June 3, 2019 following Women's Guild Meeting & Luncheon.

Knight’s of Columbus Italian Dinner

Start date: January 13, 2020 - End date: January 26, 2020

The Knights of Columbus will be hosting an Italian dinner on Sunday, January 26th in the Church Social Hall. Proceeds from this dinner will be used to support Brunswick County non-profit Organizations.

This dinner is open to the public. There will be two seatings: 5:00-6:30 p.m. and 7:00—8:30 p.m.. Tables may be reserved for parties of 8. If less than 8, please indicate who you want to be seated with and we will try to accommodate you when assigning tables.

Dinner includes salad, pasta, meatballs, roasted peppers, sausage, bread, wine, beer, soda & desert. The cost is $20 per person and $5 for children under 12.

Knights of Columbus Dance Party

Date: May 17, 2019

Our Knights of Columbus are having a Dance Party on Friday, May 17th from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. being held at the St. James Woodland Park Amphitheater. The “Back Porch Rockers” band will provide the dance music. St. James Properties LLC is our Corporate Sponsor for this dance. The cost is $10 per person and all proceeds will go to Communities in Schools (CIS) of Brunswick County whose mission is to reduce dropout rates through intensive individual work plans with students, Teen and Peer Court services, and Parenting Education.

Tickets will be sold after all Masses the weekends of May 4th & 5th and May 11th & 12th. Checks should be made out to the “Knights of Columbus.” Please include the names of each attendee as wristbands will be distributed at the event. So come with your friends, your chairs/ blankets/tables, your food, and choice of beverages (wine, beer, or soda) for a fun evening of music and dancing. The food truck, “Joe Loves Lobster,” will also be there for those who may want to get their food from him. There is no rainout date and no refunds for this event. Blessing of the Easter Baskets – An Easter Tradition

Start date: March 27, 2024 - End date: April 1, 2024

The Blessing of Easter Baskets will be held on Easter Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Church.
This tradition goes back to many years ago when people gave up many things for Lent. Then they prepared a special meal to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord.
So bring your Easter Basket of food to be blessed to continue this tradition.
