Faith Formation Classes Start Sunday, October 21st

Calling All Artisans—Fall Craft Bazaar The Ladies Guild will be holding its annual “Street of Shops” Craft Bazaar on Saturday, October 5th. Parish members work all year to provide hand-crafted goods for sale. The proceeds for this event benefit he Food panty, Brunswick Family Assistance, and other local charities. We are very fortunate to have many talented artisans within our parish. We are asking for donations from those artisans for items for the raffle which takes place during the bazaar. Art works of any genre including paintings, stained glass, sculpture, woodworking, pottery, jewelry, needlecraft, just to name a few are all welcome donations.

The pro-life committee will be sponsoring a Diaper Drive from Sept 14th to Sept 29th to benefit the mothers and babies in need of Catholic Charities’ assistance. If you are a parent or grandparent, you know how many diapers a baby needs every day. Please leave your donations on the tables in the gathering area. Your participation would be greatly appreciated.
The Knights of Columbus will be holding an Italian Dinner on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in the Church's Social Hall. Proceeds from the dinner support local non-profit organizations servicing Brunswick County Residents and used to support scholarships for Brunswick County High School Seniors.
The dinner is open to the public. There will be two seatings: 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Dinner includes salad, pasta, meatballs, roasted peppers, sausage, bread, wine, beer, soda, and dessert—an ice cream sundae bar. The cost is $20 per person; $7 for ages 12 and under. Tables may be reserved for parties of 8. Knights will be selling tickets after all Masses the weekends of Sept. 29 & 30 and October 6 & 7. The Gold Tournament Golf Outing at Carolina National Golf Course, in Bolivia on: Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Proceeds from this Golf Outing will be utilized to fund Brunswick County Charities. Over 18 years the Knights have raised over $500,000 for local charities from the proceeds of this tournament.

IT’S TIME! Time to update our photo directory. You are invited to be a part of our new photo directory. Our last directory was printed in 2010!
We are partnering with Lifetouch for this important project. Lifetouch is providing the directory at no cost to our church. Every family photographed receives a complimentary directory and an 8x10 portrait.
You can sign up after masses on the weekends of 8/11 & 8/12 and 8/18 & 8/19. You can also go online and login in at https.//booknow-lifetouch.appointment-plus.com/yeke6zls/
For your convenience, all photography and portrait viewing will take place in our social hall with no sitting fee. You will have a variety of poses taken and one pose will be selected for the directory. In addition to your 8x10, you will have the opportunity to purchase additional portraits or Christmas cards.
Pets are welcome. Tell your story - bring meaningful items to your photo session. Invite your extended family for a timeless family keepsake. Family guests will not be included in the directory. 20% military & first responder discount. 20% senior (over 60 years) discount.

Little Bethlehem Christian is a group that represents 200 Christian families who live in Bethlehem—the Holy Land—and make their living as wood carvers. After all Masses on this weekend, the group represented by Alsahouri family will display a collection of hand-carved olive wood religious items, which are also for sale. Knights of Columbus Beach Party
Saturday, August 11th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mike’s Garage Band will perform at the St. James Woodland Park Amphitheater in support of a Knights of Columbus fundraiser for the Southport-Oak Island Food Pantry. The cost is $10 per person. The Knights will be selling wristbands for this event before and after Masses this weekend and the weekend of August 4th and 5th. So come with your friends, your chairs/blankets/tables, your food, and your choice of beverages (wine, beer or soda) for a funfilled evening of music and dancing.

The SHLG invites all parish families to donate baked goods next weekend on Sept 1st - 2nd. Please bring your items to the Social Hall before Mass. Be sure to stop by and purchase some homemade goodies to take home after Mass!
All proceeds from this bake sale will be used for the Ladies Guild Scholarship Fund for Sacred Heart high school and continuing education students.
